The INA 2.0T FSI camshaft follower is located between the fuel pump lobe on the end of the intake camshaft which drives the high pressure fuel pump. The fuel pump cam follower is a common wear item on 2.0 TFSI EA113 engines. Most commonly this follower will wear or if it completley fails it can lead to fuel pressure fault codes ,excessive engine noise and engine damage. Follower failure can result in damage to the high pressure fuel pump along with the intake camshaft, with both requiring replacement,at a minimum. We recommend inspecting this follower for wear regularly to assess its condition. This is especially critical on engines that have an upgraded HPFP.
